Knightwood Ground Refurbishment

Afternoon Chaps

As you may have noticed from our fixture list, this year we have had to relocate away from our usual home ground of Knightwood Leisure Centre. Test Valley Borough Council have been awarded a grant from the ECB allowing them to refurbish the ground and install better drainage under the pitch.

We all feel this work will be positive as it will allow us to host matches at Knightwood after adverse weather and should also make the pitch play more consistently between games.  This work has already begun but will mean that the ground will be unavailable for the duration of the 2017 season; as such we have relocated our home fixtures as follows:

06th May – Southampton Sports Centre

20th May – Hunts Farm

03rd June – Hunts Farm

24th June – Southampton Sports Centre

29th July – Hunts Farm

12th August – Hunts Farm

19th August – Southampton Sports Centre

In other news Knightwood is also changing management from Valley Leisure to a new company called Places for People in April. When this transition has happened, we will enter discussions with them and the Council pertaining to the installation of additional training facilities (outdoor nets) as well as our usage of the ground/facilities for the 2018 season.

As always I’ll upload more information as this situation involves and should you have any questions then feel free to contact me.
