Knights Valley vs Bramshaw Starting XI – 04th May

Afternoon All

Unfortunately with all the wet weather we’ve had recently, our fixture against VTCC had to be cancelled and it’s looking likely from the boggy nature of Knightwood that this Sunday may be off as well. However being optimistic as we are, please see below the Starting XI for the match against Bramshaw this Sunday:

Starting XI:

  1. Sam Fielder
  2. Pete Finlay
  3. Steve Reese
  4. Darren Nangle
  5. Chris Barber
  6. Denis Payne
  7. Ian Goozee
  8. Kevin Houston
  9. Graham Cole
  10. Kev Finlay
  11. Matt Payne

Rotations:

  1. Lee Payne
  2. Iain Messenger
  3. Dan Keyworth
  4. Nick Franklin
  5. Jason Maker
  6. Charlie Pierson

For rained off fixtures going forwards, we have decided that in the interest of fairness, where possible team lists will carry over to the following week. Also for team members whom are available for a rained off match but not the following week then we shall look to count this as a match in lieu for later in the season. As mentioned we hope this approach will ensure everyone has the fairest amount of cricket through the season and will be fully supported.

Thanks

Injury update.

An update on founder member ‘Soldier-boy’ Dave McAdam. Having torn part of his Rota-cuff diving for a catch, midway through last season, he’s on the road to recovery with an op booked for June 12th. All being well, we may see him in the Knights-whites before the end of the season! See you soon Dave!

Evening cricket league.

Hi guys,

With the season starting in just a few weeks, could you all let me know if you want too or indeed will be able to make the Thursday evening games.

There are 12 games in total (all fixtures are on the website) and all the matches start at 6.30. They are at one of three venues:

Parks, Riverside or the Sports Center.

These games will be good for us and I should imagine a cracking laugh.

Let me know ASAP.

A few of things..

Hi All,

Firstly, it’s not long now until the season starts…the first friendly is 13 days away (although given the weather it looks unlikely we will play it) so with that in mind, can you all have a think about any days/weeks you’re unavailable for any games. The sooner we know, the easier our job of picking the team is, so let me know tomorrow or text me. I shall be bringing a wall planner to nets for everyone to fill in and Stato has his Excel spreadsheets with availability on that he’d be more than happy to show you and discuss at great length….

Secondly, I have placed an order for team kit with James, our good friend from Creative Images, and I will have until Tuesday lunchtime to add to it. So let me know tomorrow at nets if you want anything. If the order goes ahead and you want something later, you’ll have to pay extra for the carriage as it’ll be a small order….

Thirdly and lastly, evening cricket….we’ve decided the match fees are going to be £3.50. We’ve paid £40 to join up, we have to provide 6 match balls and they will be £8.50ish and we have to pay £21 per game for the pitch…do the math, add it all up, divide it and it ends up coming to about £2.60 per person. So we will end up making a modest profit.

That’s all for now….see you tomorrow!
