Balls, Handbooks and Results sheets…..

Hi All,

No points deduction this year, the balls and handbooks have been collected.

I expect a drink and pat on the back……

See you all tomorrow evening for the final pre-season net session.

VTCC away – May 4th

Shining Knights,

The final friendly of the year takes place against Vospors, at their ground. The weather has been amazing up until now, lets hope it continues all the way through until September. Fingers crossed.

Standard away drill here, please be at the usual meeting point, the car park behind the Cleveland Bay pub, for 12.45 (that’s 12.45 Matt and Adam!)

The starting XI is thus……

  1. Lee Payne
  2. Steve Reese
  3. Pete Finlay
  4. Adam Silence
  5. Dave McAdam
  6. Matt Payne
  7. Kev Finlay
  8. Denis Payne
  9. Dan Keyworth
  10. Chris Franklin
  11. Sam Fielder

We are contributing £30 towards the cost of tea, we aren’t paying to use the pitch, so it’ll be £5 on the day and the club will then make a little bit also.

Looking forward to it guys.

V.T.C.C. away

Please let me know your availability for our final friendly.

Away to Vospors, May 4th. Either text me or post it on here.

Cheers, KP

New Home Ground??

North Baddesley 2nds have folded.

Knightwood have been in touch with me today and asked if we want to use the pitch as many times as we can this season and then it become our home ground from next season onwards.

This season, we can use it for our first 4 home games.

Its a lot cheaper and more convenient for all.

Have a think and we will do a vote ASAP.

ta, KP

KVCC vs NEWPORT Sunday 21st

Well, it’s finally here!

The first match is days away and the team is thus,

  1. Steve Reese
  2. Chris Franklin
  3. Pete Finlay
  4. Denis Payne
  5. Dave McAdam
  6. Dan Keyworth
  7. Nick Franklin
  8. Ian Goozee
  9. Al McNicol
  10. Sam Fielder
  11. Rob Watts

I am away boozing it up on a stag weekend, so Steve is skipper. I hope to be back in time to come and watch for a bit. Not sure on time start time yet, I will text you all that. I think match fees will be £5 but again I will let you know.

Have fun and play well.

The last net sessions.

Fellow Knights,

3 more net sessions have been booked. We intend on these being the final 3, however, if the weather gets worse (there’s still the promise of the ancient sun dance from Matt and Dave if needs must) I can always book some more. These next 3 dates take us up to the Monday before the final friendly with VTCC.

  1. Monday 15th, 9-10pm
  2. Monday 22nd, 9-10pm
  3. Monday 29th, 9-10pm

Let’s all try to make these, nets this winter have been really good and enjoyable. It would be good to play a couple of indoor matches, get the running between the wickets going and get some fielding practice in.

I will post the team for next Sundays game away in Braishfield,  against Newport on Monday.

Cheers, Kp

2 things…

We have been informed by Winchester Council that we will be on Pitch Number 2 this year. Obviously this is the other pitch at King Georges, Chris Franklin has played on it and has said it’s not much different, just more of a slope from the pavilion end. Also, the clothing has been ordered and will be ready for me to collect early next week. So if you have ordered some apparel and need to pay for it, then please do so at nets on Monday or text me and arrange another time and day.

18 days until our first game!

Bring it on,

cheers, KP
