Net Attendance

Unfortunately, attendance at nets the last couple of weeks has been poor and it has cost the club £20 already. Not a large amount of cash but if the trend continues, it will sadly use up most, if not all of, our saved money and the Club will be forced to raise its subscription fee accordingly. Of course it’s not possible to make every net and there will be times of forced absence but can we all make a real effort to come along and if you can’t make it just let us know via text or Facebook so we can make the necessary arrangements. We do have the choice of cancelling a session 24hrs early and not being charged for it.

Cheers, KP

We have been lucky enough to secure two more games this season. VTCC have invited us to their ground for a pre-season friendly on May 4th and also a Sunday friendly on June 16th. You may recall we played them at our ground early last year. It will be a good test for both teams, the week before the season starts and should set us up nicely for the following weeks League opener.

Cameron Messenger

Cameron ‘ice man’ Messenger

Winning the coveted Knights Player of the Year award in his first season, Ice Man Cam is a top quality player and as cool as they come. A batsman of real class, it’s always a pleasure to watch him stroke the ball around with ease. What is not so nice to watch, is Cams batting partner. Now, cam is young and fit, we older chaps arent. So when you get called through to run 3 it’s not pleasant but when Cam does it all the time, it’s a killer! Cam is a useful bowler, who takes some vital wickets and is a good fielder too. Never one to take the limelight, i am sure he will just plug away like last season and we all hope with the same effect….

Alex Messenger

Alex ‘Alarm boy’ Messenger

Called Alarm boy on account of his punctuality (or lack of, what do you expect from a Uni student) Alex joined the club last season and has proved to be a great member the squad. Keen as mustard to play, he thinks nothing of playing only hours after coming back from a lads tour abroad (you should have seen him, ouch!). Alex is great fun to have around and he’s useful on the field too. He s one of our strongest fielders, a superb catcher and boundary stopper, he will always put his body on the line. Able to bat anywhere, Alex will be looking to hit a hatful of runs in the coming season and turn his arm over, provided of course, that he makes it to the game on time….

Adam Silence

Adam ‘Adzzy’ Silence

Adam is a youthful quicky, who can swing his balls well (or so we’ve heard) and has great wheels too. An important bowler, Adam doesn’t always get the wickets his bowling deserves and he will be looking to change that this coming season. Useful in the field, quick on his feet and a good arm, Adams youthful years gives the older guys in the team a chance to stand in close and just chat. As a batsman, Adam doesn’t understand the word defend and loves to go for his shots at any cost, if it pays off the red ball goes soaring to the boundary but if he gets it wrong…….
